Dr. Owen is a nationally recognized leader in orthodontics and has lectured to almost every orthodontic organization in the country. He has published over 45 articles in scientific journals. It is with this same passion that Dr. Owen practices and loves orthodontics. After playing football for the University of Colorado, Dr. Owen attended Baylor University College of Dentistry in Dallas, graduating second in his class. He married his wife, Joan, a Texas girl, during dental school and they spent two years on Guam in the US Air Force. In 1973 they settled in Austin to begin private practice. They have two grown children and five grandchildren. Heather is married to Brett (Dr. B.) and mother to two sons, Braden and Haden and a daughter, Caden. Hunter is a chiropractor living in Austin with his wife, Amy and their son, Jake and daughter, Callie. For recreation Dr. Owen played competitive raquetball at the state level and ran marathons until his football knee told him to stop. He currently plays golf like any weekend duffer.
Dr. Buckman is a native Austinite. He attended Doss Elementary, Murchison Middle School and graduated from Johnston High School in 1987. From there, he attended Texas Christian University, earning a degree in accounting. After returning to Austin, he decided to pursue an orthodontic career and was accepted to The University of Texas Health Science Center-Dental School in San Antonio. He married his high school sweetheart, Heather, that same summer of 1993. After graduating valedictorian, he finished his academic career in Dallas at Baylor’s Orthodontic residency program. He and Heather have two precious sons, Braden and Haden and a beautiful daughter, Caden. Dr. B enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid supporter of his children’s activities.
